So sorry to hear this news about Slinky's latest troubles. I know you don't want to use the Pred but I have to tell you that Miss Molly is still doing great and has been on the Pred for a year and half now. Pred can be an amazing medication...yes it can have some side effects but it sure can improve the quality of life sometimes too. Usually the blood glucose doesn't decrease as a response to stress, especially in dogs. We see it increase quite often in cats when they come into the emergency hospital. If you have any specific questions about the Pred and all don't hesitate to email Molly's mom, I'm sure she'd be happy to answer any questions you have.
I can't remember...are Slinky & Michie blood relatives? Then both having insulinoma is just so unusual.
