My name is Cynthia and I am from Missouri. I'm married, with two sons (ages 22 &27), two fur kids (a 9.5 year old male Boxer and a 10 month old female Dogue de Bordeaux).
Our boxer had a mast cell tumor removed last month, and the pathology came back a grade 2 with clean edges. Our vet told us the narrowest margin was 2cm.
My husband, oldest son, and I consulted with an oncologist to give us an idea of what to expect and discuss treatment options. It was suggested that we follow up with chemotherapy, but did not feel it was the right option for us.
I joined this group for support and hopefully ideas how to treat/prevent future MCT with supplements and diet. Our vet started our boxer on benadryl/pepcid therapy before surgery (along with an antihistamine injection), and we continued the therapy for 4 weeks after surgery.
I'm feeding a raw diet, but I'm not sure if I should feed veggies and if so, what veggies I should avoid? What veggies fight cancer?
My boxer's current supplement list:
Broccomax
Cran tri C ( cranberry extract with vit c)
Phyto flex ( joint support)
Cancer support capsules (from Nature's Famacy)
probiotics ( human grade, was given anti-biotics)
Transfer Factor Tri-plus
I'm wondering if I should continue giving probiotics indefinitely. Can it hurt? Any thoughts?
Thank you all for allowing me to participate and share.
Cynthia
