The spindle cell was removed from his side last year. We did not do any chemo or radiation.
Nasal cancer - Squamous Cell Carcinoma diagnosed early this year.
Six treatments of carboplatin spaced three weeks apart.
Peroxicam every other day. (He had stomach bleeding when he took it daily).
We are now in the Interim for 3 months. He is still on peroxicam.
A new lump appeared in the same are as the other spindle cell. There is a 25% chance of this type of cancer returning. We are taking a "watch and see" approach with it - since the oncologist feels the nasal cancer is the higher priority and doesn't want to put him through surgery so soon after the chemo.
During chemo --- we usually have vomiting and some lethargy during our "danger zone" of day 10 to 14. The first time we did a treatment --- he ended up in the hospital. After that --- just nauseated with vomiting. I would give him the Cerenia and usually by the evening he is ready to eat something --- even if it is not a full amount.
Hope that helps.
