I am very sorry to hear about your dear Cicely's new diagnosis, and also for Tim's melanoma metastasis. I know all too well of having more than one ill at the same time...it is not easy. I'm happy to hear that their appetites are strong and that they are enjoying spring. It is such a beautiful time of year...
I have a question for you on Tim -- my Slinky has also developed lung metastasis from melanoma -- a spot showed up on her chest x-ray last week, but she is currently otherwise asymptomatic. Her first 4 vaccines finished January 27, so it is about now for us if the vaccine is going to show any assistance either by slowing things down or causing tumor regression.
With Tim's new situation, were you offered any further treatment ideas? Is he showing any signs of stress from the disease? What was his stage at the time of diagnosis? My apologies for all the questions. Slinky's initial tumor was on the tongue and was removed but with dirty margins, and the spot on her right lung turned up at her 3 month check-up from the date of surgery. I am curious about the pups that might develop metastasis from the disease after vaccination -- if there is any thought that the immune response may still be happening, maybe just not strong enough to suppress, but strong enough inhibit progressions somewhat. Curious what you were told on this issue, as I am trying to wrap my mind around it all...
Wishing you many good days ahead in the warm weather with your pups...you are not fighting this alone!
:)
