[CanineCancer] New member - another Golden with nasal cancer

My 11.5 yr old Golden started with a runny nose about 2 months ago.
After 2 months of fighting what looked like a sinus infection (culture
showed staph, highly resistant to most antibiotics) we have a cancer
diagnosis. Along the way to the diagnosis we did xrays (twice), a scope
to look for tumors, nasal flush and cytology (no cancer cells found) -
but he wasn't getting any better on the antibiotic. About a week ago I
noticed a bump on his muzzle just above the nose leather, aspirate
showed neoplasia, we are waiting on the biopsy results to see what kind
of cancer.

I have been told that until we know what kind of cancer we can't really
talk about a treatment. I don't want to do any extreme treatments on a
Golden this old but if there is some kind of therapy that would not
cause him pain or distress I would certainly consider it. I am in the
Northern Virginia area - if anyone has used an oncologist in the area
that you liked I would love to hear from you. I'd rather go off a
reference than pick one out cold. I plan on going to a holistic vet I
have used before to get suggestions on diet, etc.
