Hi Kay - I am so sorry to hear of Lucy's diagnosis... she is lucky to have such wonderful friends who love her. I would consult with a holistic vet who might have some supplements or other ideas. I often find that when traditional medicine has done all it can, that alternative options work wonders. Many will even schedule a phone consult so you don't have to take a long drive or put her through a visit at a new place.
Lucy sounds like a tough cookie and I expect she'll enjoy life as long as she possibly can! I am sending prayers for this brave girl... and you all too.
