Re: [CanineCancer] Not an uncommon tale: 3 yr old Boxer with Mast Cell on tip of docked tail

We have a very waggy, happy boy Yoda! Today we got the good news that his buffy test came back negative. He had a MCT grade 2 removed 2.5 weeks ago. My vet didn't quite get the full large margin because she didn't want to cut into his leg muscle but it turned out to not be that bad of a 2. We're planning on putting him on some prednisone for about 1 month just in case there are some cells floating around.

I'm a schnauzer person at heart so tails don't mean a lot to me, but Yoda did loose a perfectly good eye when he had his tumor removed last January and did quite well with 4 weeks of radiation in this location along his brain. I took him in at 9 and he was out the door at 9:20 /5 days a week. I wish I had his teeth cleaned before the radiation since he had a mouth sore. He's not quite as photogenic but don't tell him as he's still the life of the party. Yes he is differant looking, not bad. We've checked and the tumor has not come back. Yoda could be about 15+ now and he's done beautifully with each surgery and more active than ever.
