[CanineCancer] Some happy news to share!

Hi listers!
I just wanted to share a little happy news with the group.  As some of you may remember my Newfie, Ebony, was diagnosed with lymphoma the end of April.  We began treatment following the University of Wisconsin-Madison protocol right away.
Over the weekend Ebony was entered in AKC Rally trials.  After a blood test and the green light from her chemo vet we went to the trials and had a wonderful time together!!!  Ebony qualified in every event she was entered in and even earned 3rd and 4th placements along the way.  The title we are pursuing needs 10 "legs" to earn and we are now only 3 legs away!!
To say I am happy and proud of my girl is a huge understatement.  When we got that nasty diagnosis I thought our time in the ring together was over, but Ebony is in remission and happily living life.  She had treatment today and her chemo vet said Ebony must still be on a high from the weekend 'cuz she was prancing around and even jumped in the vet's lap!  (she may be a Newf, but she certainly thinks she's a tiny lap dog!)
I will cherish the memories from this last weekend for a very long time.
