They told me 3 days on the patch. I had been given tramadol when I went back an hour after picking her up after surgery when she wasn't dealing well, but this may have been one that was upsetting her. She got an injection of something morphine related to help until the patch kicked in (they told me it takes 8-10 hours), but this injection didn't go over well. She's on rimadyl and the patch now, and she is really comfortable, even laying on the incision side. Best of luck to you and yours!
