[CanineCancer] Re: Attn Those With Mast Cell Dogs - Have You Tried the Tagament/Benadryl treatment?

I've used cimetidine/benadryl on numerous pugs and boxers through the years.......I do it as preventative when MCT's have been found and removed (if they can be removed safely)....I do it on dogs suspected of having internal MCT's.....I've never had any bad experiences with it. I usually start out with a couple of weeks of both, then continue with the cimetidine only, mainly b/c the benadryl makes some dogs so sleepy.
