I apologize; I have been so consumed with Gretchen I haven't encouraged anyone else who is on this journey. Today we received the pathology results. It was a low-grade fibrosarcoma and the margins are clean. The results make me feel much better about my decision to go ahead and have the more radical surgery rather than risk dirty margins. Gretchen probably wouldn't agree. We have a week of trying not to pull out stitches again and eating is not easy or a favorite thing.
However, I never thought that she would master drinking and that is behind us as will eating some day. I know that things will also improve when we can get rid of that darned e-collar. Getting off-lead and being able to run with Gracie and roll to scratch her back will be good too. Baby steps, baby steps.
