I read your message a few minutes ago and it brought something to mind regarding a teaching hospital. One of the big hospitals (reg. not vet.) in Phx.,AZ is a teaching hospital and it is one of the best in the state and has been for quite a few years. My dau. & I used to live there. There is nothing wrong with a teaching hospital whether it is one for people or for animals. Its the care & expertise you get that counts. Have a talk with someone at the Purdue Univ. small animal clinic/ veterinary teaching school before you go and find out more about it. Call on the phone. I am sure that someone there could answer any questions you may have about them before you make your decision.
I am surprised that Indianapolis only has that one vet. specialty hospital. I would have thought that they had more than that considering the size of that city.
