I did the chemo for two reasons, one was I had to make up my mind on the surgery and choices very quickly. Plus there are not any holistic vets that close to me and other dog problems existed. I was also told that chemo does not affect dogs the way it does humans, plus I was told it was only going to be three sessions. Because in all my 17 dogs I had never been willing to do chemo on my dogs. I think I was just so blind sided that my beautiful healthy dog was dying. I wish I had decided not to do it . She lost most of her tail feathering and lost all the hair on her elbows. Even though she had pills for nausea and Diarrhea. I could barely get anything into her for four or five days and then when I could she would not touch anything but carbs. Torn between no food and the bad stuff I gave her some of the bad stuff. Decisions decisions. After the third chemo it was six days no matter what I offered and believe me I offered everything. But she had a bleed that night and I let her go the next morning.
No matter what you do you cannot second guess yourself. I would have given anything to save her. We all would have. I am writing this through tears, it is almost four months. You are not God all you can do the best you can and you are doing that.
